Youth Development Specialist
Job Description
Role
The Youth Development Specialist provides direct instruction and supervision for children enrolled in the Boys & Girls Clubs
Education and Experience
-Must be 18 years of age
-Must be able to read and write effectively
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications and Characteristics
Performs duties under general supervision with a high degree of initiative and good judgment.
Must be to attend to details of record keeping with accuracy.
Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with children, parents, staff, teachers, principals, site directors, and program director.
Must follow through with oral and written instructions
Must possess adequate visual, auditory, and motor skills in order to take care of children.
Must exhibit tact and understanding when dealing with children, parents, and system personnel.
Essential Duties:
Plans and implements daily and weekly activities for a group of club members.
Assists Unit director in daily operation of the program site
Assists in maintaining daily attendance reports and other clerical tasks.
Assists in distribution and maintenance of equipment
Assists in parent drop off and pick up of members
Assumes responsibilities as assigned by the Unit Director
Enrichment activities will be included
May be required to drive a Club van periodically
May consult with parents concerning a member and branch issues
Must attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings
