RN - NICU - PRN

JOB SUMMARY Provides direct care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery (NICU) utilizing the nursing process.
Is responsible for managing care of assigned patients.
Is responsible for appropriately managing care of assigned patients with life threatening conditions.
Demonstrates ability to provide timely and efficient patient care to meet patient needs and expectations.
Fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration with staff members.
Performs all duties and maintains standards in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program or will obtain prior to working as a RN Licensure: Current Georgia RN or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria professional licensure or will obtain prior to beginning work as a RN.
BLS CPR required.
NRP required with in 6 months of hire Experience: NICU experience preferred.
Skills: Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia.
Proficient in special skills as demonstrated through completion of critical care course skills check off.
Competency consistent with core nursing skills.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and other associates throughout the organization in order to provide excellent care and maintain effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS Works in a typical NICU setting with neonates experiencing a range of medical conditions.
Required to work flexible schedule including weekends.
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions.
Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
