The Refrigeration Service Technician I is responsible for the support of the retail operation through maintenance, installation and repair of refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Take ownership of the refrigeration systems and become a proactive partner of the stores in his/her home
Conduct periodic checks and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment so that critical failures do not
Diagnose and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control aspects of the supermarket refrigeration
Install new and remove old equipment as needed for remodel and
Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted company wide for improved performance, reduced down time and cost
Maintain all records necessary for government and company
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Light welding, brazing and metal
Work on a 24-hour on call basis, as (The goal is to develop a preventative maintenance program that allows for a normal 40 hour work week).
Assist the RST-II with diagnostic
Perform leak checks to ensure EPA compliance and for diagnostic

The payroll week runs from Saturday until Friday.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide support for the company wide retail and distribution operations with regards to the maintenance and repair of HVAC, refrigeration and electrical equipment.
DECISION DISCRETION
Must possess the ability to make effective decisions to ensure that all electrical equipment, HVAC and refrigeration systems at the retail and distribution center facilities operate at an optimal level.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years experience in refrigeration maintenance and accredited training on the principals of refrigeration, or 7 years experience in refrigeration maintenance.
Experience with single and parallel compressor systems.
Competence with electronic refrigeration control systems.
Valid refrigerant certification.
