Location & Travel The position is primarily centered at and around the Company’s Cleveland, TN location, and a considerable amount of travel will be required (up-to 75%) during training, between facilities within that region.
Travel will likely reduce to 25-50% upon completion of training.
Reporting Relationships The Plant Manager (In Training) will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager and will work closely with the Managers, Supervisors, and Plant-Level Operations Teams to learn the overall operation of the plants and help to ensure production, quality, housekeeping and safety goals are met and sustained.

Education/Experience Minimum of 1 year Supervisory experience in the manufacturing industry High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Observes and develops good customer relations by working closely with plant manager, sales and customers to resolve issues.
Exposure to costing process and understanding programs to meet budget guidelines.
Develops an effective system of communication to ensure the effective two-way flow of information to all plant personnel.
Comprehends required production goals as stated in Millwood standard operating procedures.
Learns strategies to ensure efficient utilization of employee aptitude, equipment, machinery and materials.
Helps supervise safety of all employees.
Evaluates programs to confirm all employees are properly trained on safety equipment.
Ensures that accidents with or without property damage and or injuries are reported promptly and a thorough investigation is completed utilizing appropriate accident and investigation standard operating procedures.
Collaborates with management to conduct reliable and accurate inventories.
Follows up to ensure housekeeping standards are met on a daily basis.
Understands and observes quality standards are met.
Identifies issues affecting quality, discusses with management and takes corrective actions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities Time Management Leadership & Team Building Oral and Written Communication Administrative & Technology, to include device, program, and digital app familiarity Analytical and problem solving Organizational & Consulting Conflict Resolution Supervisory Responsibilities The Manager (In Training) is responsible for intimately learning the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
May directly supervise employees (non-supervisory).
Once approved, will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Further responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance with plant manager; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, bend, use hands, talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee is occasionally required to independently lift up to 50 lbs.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to see color.
Work Environment: Facility grounds may vary based on location, and may include extreme heat and cold, variable terrain, variable heights, and variable noise levels.
Occasional use of proper PPE is necessary whenever required, to include gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.
The noise level varies based on the work environment.
