This position will provide conceptual development and detailed engineering of production line support systems associated with the manufacturing and distribution of packaged food products.

Pay Grade
Salaried grade 11 or 13, $94,900 - $128,400 / year.
Exact pay will depend on qualifications and experience.

Job Summary
Join us, as an active part of the Systems Engineering team and you will gain exposure to many facets of engineering in ingredient storage, delivery systems, utilities and more.

Perform conceptual development and detailed engineering of production line support systems and equipment used in the manufacture of snack foods
Prepare equipment specifications, capital project justifications, schedules and cost estimates
Responsible for meeting project cost, schedule, and performance objectives
Provide technical leadership for bulk solids and liquids unloading, storage and delivery systems, mixing/blending systems, and process/building utilities
Develop and improve production processes
Design specialty production equipment
Evaluate existing production processes/systems to identify problem areas and make improvements and/or development suggestions
Work closely with plant manufacturing, maintenance and other engineering personnel to optimize plant layout and identify solutions to engineering problems
Serve as a project leader for a wide variety of projects
Research and stay abreast of technological improvements in related fields
Travel (up to 25%) as needed to branch locations
Required Qualifications
B.
S in Chemical, Mechanical or Food Process Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
5 years’ of engineering experience (co-op/intern or professional level)
High level of initiative, assertiveness, and self-direction
Demonstrated record of successful project management
Aptitude for organizing and prioritizing multiple project activities
Ability to excel in a project team environment
Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent ability to communicate with people of all backgrounds at various levels
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of engineering experience
Knowledge of utilities systems design (pipe sizing, equipment specifications and selection) for natural gas, steam, compressed air, HVAC/Refrigeration, and domestic water supplies
Familiarity with mechanical systems components such as: heat exchangers (including scraped surface), boilers, chillers, mixers, cooling tunnels, valves, etc.
Experience in pneumatic conveying, piping system design and Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems
Experience engineering capital projects including process design, equipment selection, integration and design, equipment installation and commissioning
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment including maintenance and troubleshooting (supervision, maintenance, or plant engineering)
Experience in sanitary design for a food-manufacturing environment
Machine Design experience
Lean or six sigma training and/or experience
Proven success managing capital projects
Experience using CAD and/or design software
Familiarity with electrical controls
Knowledge of shop practices (machine and fabrication)
