Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team , in Rome, GA
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements.
Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
Assist the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules, RFI’s etc)
Assist the project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination.
Attend progress meeting and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues.
Supervision of Junior inspector.
Inspection and testing of soils, concrete, steel and masonry materials for road and bridge projects.
Experience with GDOT construction and specifications desired.
Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Observing general job safety practices.
Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
The ability to work as a team a plus.
Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
What your experience looks like
Experience as a Senior Inspector on Georgia Department of Transportation projects in the Columbus, GA area.
High School diploma or equivalent plus (10) years of experience in construction inspection, 10 years of which shall have been in bridge/or roadway construction inspection.
Valid driver’s license
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector level I & II
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Inspector level I & II
CTQP Earthwork Inspector Level I & II.
Advanced Maintenance of Traffic
