Job Title Game on Turf Creeler Operator | Plant T8 | 3rd Shift Position Overview .
Position Objective: To ensure that creels are ready for production of Turf and to be responsible for the manufacturing of first quality Turf and all required elements involved in the operations of a tufting machine.
Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility) Assess creel conditions.
Hang a new lot number on each creel.
Strip, cut back and double or spot double creels.
Air splice packages of yarn together.
Perform merging procedures.
Cap bad tubes.
Blow back yarn when necessary.

Perform all tasks associated with the mender and operator positions including but not limited to: threading needles and guides, repairing breakouts on creels, changing machine hooks and needles as needed, mending all styles of carpet, completing daily production report, and inspecting carpet for bow and skew.
Give direction to creelers and menders when directed by supervisor.
Non Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility).
Maintain recyclable material (cardboard, plastic, paper, etc.
).
General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
Assist floor supervisors as needed with any additional duties.
Education and Experience Requirements: Must be able to recognize numbers.
General understanding of tufting operation procedures preferred.
Knowledge of creel preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must have a minimum reach of 78 inches.
Must be able to hold and maneuver a mending gun weighing approximately 7-10 lbs.
Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
Must be able to stand or walk for the majority of shift.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry loads of up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
Must be able to work with hands/arms extended overhead.
Must be able to work in an industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity and temperature variations.
Must participate in pre-shift stretching exercises.
Other Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, supervisors and associates.
Must be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines.
Must be able to comply with all plant policies.
Must be able to perform tasks quickly and safely.
Must be able to meet departmental work standards in the areas of hanging, splicing and stripping.
Equipment and Tools: Yarn Snips Air Splicer Retractable Knives Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety & Security Requirements: Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for a task.
Always be cautious of lift trucks traveling throughout the plants.
Immediately report any and all quality, safety, or mechanical issues to the supervisor on duty.
Hair must be worn above collar length.
Keep all loose articles away from machinery.
Practice general housekeeping and keep work areas clean.
Always use proper lifting techniques.
Report any injuries to your supervisor or nurse immediately.
Keep all creel gates closed unless yarn is being set up or removed from the creel.
Do not stand on the conveyer or lean against the creel gates.
Do not throw yarn packages or tubes and do no drop heavy objects from the top creel.
Observe all plant policies including but not limited to cutting policy, speed limit policy, and tobacco use policy.
